The Important Stuff
How to Book a Session
You can call us at our studio at 304.488.6807 to book your session. We usually book appointments for the current month, and 1 month in advance. We book in the order they call so if you want your appointment in a specific month, for example: October, it’s a good idea to get yourself on the waiting list early. The session fee will be due on the day of your appointment. We accept all major credit/debit cards.
Planning Your Session
Plan your session ahead of time. Make clothing selections that flatter your family and also are cohesive with your décor in your home. Simple clothing is best. Solid colors won't distract like patterns will. Shirts in similar shades of a color help create a cohesive look. Pants should be the same wash/color. Start with neutrals and add a pop of color in accessories throughout your family. Avoid shirts with logos and wording to create a more classic look. Bring a brush or comb, makeup, and any other personal items you may need to touch up a bit.
Pricing and Collections
We have several session pricing options. The family session fee is $25.00 for indoor at the studio and $50.00 for alternate locations. We have two types of print pricing, a la carte and Collections. You can purchase as little or as much as you want with a la carte. We also have Collections that feature wall art, digital images, canvas groupings, gift prints and more that offer discounts and bonus products. Collections start at $425.00. For more information, an in-person consultation, or to schedule your session you can call us at 304.488.6807.
After Your Session
Once your session is photographed, it typically takes about 2 weeks for your portraits to be edited. Once the images are edited, we will contact you to set up an in-person ordering appointment. You will come back to view your images on our 60" TV from our comfy couch. Once you place your order, it usually takes 10 to 14 business days to receive it from our lab (depending on the product and edits required). For more helpful hints, see How should I prepare for my ordering session? below.
Helpful Hints
How should I prepare for my ordering session?
Everyone who will be making decisions should be present for the session. We also recommend making an evening of it by getting a sitter. This will allow you stress-free time to choose your selections (and maybe even grab dinner after). Think about where you will be hanging your wall art before your session. We can even display potential wall art for your home at actual size in ratio to your wall. All you have to do is take a photo with your cell phone and email it to us. We can give you instructions on how at your session. We can also do a pre-consultation to discuss where you will be displaying your wall art, so we can better plan out your session and posing. Make a list of those whom you will be purchasing gift prints. We will give you a packet of our collections at your session so you and your family can review the options and pricing before coming back for your ordering session.
Happy people, happy photos
A hangry family does not make photo sessions a fun time. Make sure everyone has had a snack before coming and feel free to bring snacks and drinks for the little ones.
Candy, Candy, Candy
Your child will not be the first that gets a little "too excited" during their session. We work on kid time during our portrait sessions and understand that some may take longer than others, so stay positive. Bribery gets us EVERYWHERE. We use candy (usually Smarties®) for a little persuasion with the little ones. If your little one is under the age of 1, please bring your baby's favorite treat, whether it be puffs or yogart melts. Please let us know ahead of time if your child is unable to have candy.
Fur babies are family too
Bring your pet. They're part of the family too. If "Spot" tends to get a little antsy invite a friend to pet-sit after your pooch's part of the family photo is over. We have over 2 acres of trees to smell and squirrels to chase to keep them busy while their family finishes their portraits.
